The season has started

Today we attended this seasons first vw meeting... and a good start it was :) Got myself a new t-shirt (with a type 3 on it of course)... some pics of a sweet notch, and a ratty beetle.

Prep'ing for the paintjob

Took a day of from work today... and went to the garage. There have been many hours spent there during the last month, and some progress have been made. But most of it ain't visible. Today I removed the old  sound/vibration damper in the drivers door, and replaced it with a new one. We did the passanger door earlier. And I did some more sanding...

When you see progress.. motivation boosts

Some places on the car is showing progress... thats good for motivation :) Front luggage area getting readty, and the petrol tank getting back in its spot.

But some parts need some more work...

Cleaning, removing rust...

We removed the front axle, so we can fit a new one (broke some bolts on the old one, so it's just easier too change it). Lots of surface rust is remover from all over the car, and the new front axle is cleaned.

10 hours of work done

No pics today, just a lot of work done. Thanks to Vemund, I made progress today... we just have to keep this speed the next months :)

The welder is done, now it's my turn

After many hours of welding, Finn-Erik is finnaly able to push the squareback out of his garage. There where rot in the usual places, and he fabricated parts to get the job done :) So, yesterday we picked up the car.

Next was a safe arrivel at Vemunds garage, where the final work will be done during the coming months. My goal is to show the car on the first weekend of july, on the VW Internationals show in Fredrikstad, Norway.

Welding, welding.... and some more welding

Finn-Erik have been bizy... and has got a lot of welding done :) It's starting to looking good, and I actually believe it can be ready for the summer (or at least during the summer).
